Youth relate to life through stories. Stories can teach skills, build self-awareness, increase self-esteem, and provide life lessons. Our world challenges children but no longer requires them to learn through hardship how to become stronger and better. My stories provide models for youth to learn that doing hard things, facing challenges with fortitude, and being kind are strengths. My books offer teachers opportunities to begin conversations about friendship, overcoming challenges, healing from deep hurts, managing emotions, and withstanding negative peer pressure. As teachers are confronted with numerous traumatized students and few support resources, these books are excellent resources.
